Goals 4 Ghana

Great News! Goals 4 Ghana is a Contributing Charity for the 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. We need your help, though. If you would like to run for G4G to help raise money, please contact us as soon as you can. The more the better. And if you cannot run but would like to donate or sponsor a runner, please contact us as well. We will direct you on how to donate. Hopefully we can make a good showing for G4G and the children of Ghana!

Also, please check out our MARATHON page for registration information. We will also be updating it from time to time with new information regarding our runners and donation information.

We are excited to announce that the equipment delivery was a success!  We have begun dispersing the equipment to the kids out there.  A landmark day for Goals 4 Ghana! Goals 4 Ghana has been registered as a participating charity on GoodSearch.com.  Now you can raise money for G4G just by searching the internet!

January 18, 2010 will mark the first shipment of new and used soccer equipment that Goals 4 Ghana will make to the less privileged children of Ghana. Thank all of you for all of the great donations. Please continue to support us so that we can make these shipments a more frequent event.

Goals 4 Ghana is pleased to invite you to our “Drive for 2,500.” We have done some tremendous work this year raising new and used soccer equipment for children of need in Ghana. Now we are looking to raise $2,500 to ship this equipment to Ghana. We would like to kick off this drive with a “Drive for 2,500” members on our Facebook page. All of you have been so great to join our group to help support our cause. We are hoping that this event will raise more awareness to the Goals 4 Ghana organization.

We are asking that for at least one (1), 24-hour period between now and December 25th, that you donate your facebook status as part of this drive. If you would like to take part, please post the following message to your status with a link to our facebook group:

“Everyday in Ghana, children use the game of soccer as an escape from the realities of hunger, disease, and poverty. Goals 4 Ghana provides these kids with soccer equipment to help make their lives better. If you support our cause, please join our Facebook group and post this message in your profile.”

If you would like to go even further, you could also change your profile picture to our logo as well. Also, if you would like to help with the shipping of the equipment, please take the time to make a donation here on our website. If everyone donates $10-$25 we will raise the funds we need in no time. All donations are tax deductible, so please help if you can.

The World Cup 2010 draw was today. Ghana is in Group D with Germany, Australia, and Serbia. The USA in group C with England, Slovenia, and Algeria. The World Cup starts this June and takes place in South Africa. Good luck to all! Cheer on both the Ghanians and Americans!
